Overview

Most U.S. small and mid-size businesses don't need a fully bespoke web application. They need a hand-built theme on a stable platform, plus real attention to page speed, content structure, and conversion paths. We work in that middle ground. More capable than a drag-and-drop builder. Less expensive than a custom-coded enterprise stack.

Every project starts with a content audit and an information-architecture pass, not a visual design. We map out which pages need to exist, what each page is supposed to do for a buyer, and how internal links should flow. The visual design follows that structure, not the other way around.

Once the site ships, you get the source code, the hosting account, and a written runbook. Keep us on a maintenance plan, or take it in-house. There is no proprietary platform to escape from later.

What is web development?

Web development is the discipline of designing, building, and maintaining websites and web applications. It covers the user-facing interface visitors interact with, the database and server logic that stores content and processes forms, and the deployment pipeline that gets new code in front of users safely.

A modern business website blends marketing copy, structured data, accessibility, and performance work into one deliverable. It has to load on a slow phone, render correctly for screen readers, get crawled cleanly by Google, and give AI tools enough structured signal to cite it correctly.

How we work

  1. Strategy and content auditWe spend the first week reading what you have already published, listing competitor top pages, and writing a brief that says exactly what each page on the new site needs to do.
  2. Information architecture and wireframesPage-by-page wireframes in plain HTML. No styling. You sign off on structure before any visual design begins. This is where we kill duplicate pages and add the ones that were actually missing.
  3. Visual design and copyHi-fi mockups in two key viewports, desktop and mid-size phone, using a system that scales. Final copy lives next to the design so headings, body length, and calls to action get evaluated together.
  4. Build and integrationHand-coded WordPress theme, Laravel application, or WooCommerce store. Git from day one. Schema markup and SEO foundations get added during build, not bolted on after launch.
  5. QA, launch, and handoffCross-browser testing, Lighthouse audits, content review, and a documented runbook before we go live. After launch you get a 30-day stabilization window where small fixes are included.

Engagement example

A 22-person professional services firm came to us with a five-year-old WordPress install on a shared host. Pages took six-plus seconds to load. The site failed Core Web Vitals on every page. The marketing team could not update content without filing a developer ticket. We rebuilt the site on a custom theme, restructured 38 service pages into 12 focused ones, and set up a content workflow the marketing team now owns end-to-end.

Frequently asked questions

We build custom WordPress websites, Laravel-powered web applications, WooCommerce stores, and full website redesigns. We focus on business and healthcare clients that need a hand-built site instead of a templated one. Usually 5 to 50 pages with a clear marketing or lead-generation goal.

We default to WordPress with custom themes for content sites, Laravel for portals and apps that need real backend logic, and WooCommerce for ecommerce. The front end is Bootstrap and vanilla JavaScript. We pick performance and accessibility over bundle weight.

A focused business website usually takes 4 to 8 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on page count, custom design needs, and content readiness. Larger Laravel applications and ecommerce builds run 8 to 16 weeks. We share a milestone timeline before signing.

Yes. You own the source code, the hosting account, the domain, the database, and any media we deliver. We hand over a documented repository and admin credentials at launch. Nothing is locked into a proprietary builder you cannot leave.

Yes. About half our work is improving a site that has already launched. Speed work, redesign, content restructuring, schema markup, and AI Search Optimization. We start with a free audit so you can decide whether a redesign or a focused improvement plan makes more sense.
